Based on the work by Samuel Rodriguez, "Thinking in Icons" were among my first explorations of portraiture in a digital medium. Inspired by his work - and trained in his style by his online course on domestika.com - I experienced Rodriguez’s unique approach of creating traditional medium aesthetic via digital means.
My interpretation of his style shows two young men whose thoughts, subconscious and conscious, surround the viewer’s eyes and cloud their vision as they interact with the world around them.
Rodriguez’s class helped me gain a better understanding of the tools in procreate, and demonstrated the versatility of both the digital medium and those who interact with it.
